With their mum fighting for her life, they needed somewhere safe to go…
A few months ago, Phoebe and her 11 newborn siblings needed our care when their brave mum was sadly poisoned. Luckily, their mum survived the ordeal, but her milk was now compromised, and her body was too weak to care for her babies. Phoebe and the whole litter now faced a dire outcome unless they received urgent and immediate care.
The team at SCAR acted at once, placing Phoebe and her siblings in the care of our most experienced foster carers, who bottle-fed the little bunch around the clock to fill their hungry bellies. From vital vaccinations, formula, and nursing supplies, as well as plenty of love and attention - Phoebe and her siblings never went without whilst in our care.
Over the months this little family transformed from tiny, starving puppies, into happy, healthy little pups, full of life! Now ready to be desexed, Phoebe and her siblings began the journey of finding their loving homes!
Less than a week after her profile was published online, Phoebe became a beloved family member in the home of Alicia and her family, who absolutely adore her:

But this holiday season, even more orphans, just like this little family - will arrive at SCAR in need of safe refuge. In fact, when Phoebe and her family were in our care, we had over 60 orphaned puppies and kittens arrive in that month alone.
